The Full Course to Building Autonomous AI Agents
From a complete beginner to an AI agent building pro. This guide walks you through every step of the process.
Your Journey Starts Now
By the end of this guide, you are going to have the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build out fully autonomous AI agents by yourself. I'm going to take you from a complete beginner, somebody who knows absolutely nothing about AI agents, to an AI agent building pro.
The truth is, people have been taking advantage of this AI agent wave for the past six months now. I've had students in my community completely replace their nine-to-five work because they understand how to build AI agents. I've also had people create new businesses out of selling AI agents and AI systems to other businesses or other individuals. And let me tell you, the demand for these agents is super high right now, but the supply of agent builders is very low because people just haven't been properly taught on how to build them.
Chances are you may have even seen some videos on n8n and agent building where people are building out these complex workflows but they're not really explaining it step by step and talking about why things are happening. That is why I am creating this full course.
Want to Accelerate Your Growth?
I spend most of my time in the AI Foundations community. This group aggregates everybody's knowledge from different industries. Everyone's in here building agents, selling agents, making real money, and seeing real results. Surrounding yourself with people who are selling these agents for thousands of dollars will dramatically put you ahead of anyone else.
We have more courses, pre-built agents (like YouTube Shorts agents, blogging agents, deep research agents), and multiple live calls a week. If you want to join a classroom full of much more content, I highly recommend checking it out.

I've specifically designed this guide for you. I haven't taken any material out of my premium course; I've created this to take a beginner to a pro. This is not going to be a quick fix guide, but rather one giving you all the knowledge that you need to successfully build AI agents. Zero fluff, I just want you to succeed.
- Go through at your own pace (like 1x speed on a video).
- Take notes on key concepts.
- Don't skip any sections, as they build on each other.
- Plan to review it two or three times to solidify your knowledge.
Section 1: The Basics of AI Agents
We need to start small. I will be building out multiple automations and agents, but everything that is preceding that is going to be important for you to understand. I'm going to be going over terminology, tools, and pretty much everything you need to know to get up to speed on why agents are important and how to build them.
Definition: Agents are systems that can act autonomously and use tools to perform complex tasks. In the case of agents, I'm going to define a complex task as a task that requires human reasoning.
In other words, AI agents are good at replacing the need for a human to be in the loop. They're very dynamic and can adapt to different situations or edge cases. And that's what makes these things so powerful is they can adapt to unique situations. You don't just build it once for one unique situation and have it run; that would be considered an automation.
Agents take in new information every time, it's a different scenario every single time, but you can get a good result if you can build them correctly.
This is an important distinction to make. Let's look at the differences and a scenario to help you understand.
- Automations: Predefined workflows that perform structured tasks. Something that happens the exact same every single time. Automations are great because they're super consistent.
- Agents: Non-deterministic and can adapt to situations in real time. You don't have to worry about a unique situation or something small being different because the agent can adapt very well.
You can think of agents like a human brain. When we are presented with a problem, our conscious mind is going to use our subconscious mind to find out how we have dealt with this problem in the past, what tools we've used, and what resources are available to make a decision. That's kind of how an agent is acting.
The Garden Analogy:
The Automation: Let's say you have a garden and you get sick of watering it. You set up a simple self-watering automation on a timer. At the same time each day, your garden gets watered. This is great! But what if it rains a lot? Your automation doesn't know any better and keeps watering, which could overwater and damage your plants. What if there's a dry spell? Your automation keeps giving the same amount of water, which might not be enough, and your plants could die.
The AI Agent: Now, imagine you have an AI agent baked into this water system. The agent dynamically controls the water flow depending on current and future weather patterns. It can also take into account how tall your plants are, the growing zone, soil moisture, and the plant type. It then makes decisions for when to water your plants based on all of these changing factors. This leads to an epic, lush garden because it can adapt to the exact situation today.
All automations and agents follow this similar framework:
What starts the process?
Where data is processed.
The final outcome.
The key difference between an Automation and an Agent happens here, in the Configuration step.
In an automation, the configuration is the same each and every time. In an agent, it will dynamically decide how to configure an output based on the situation. It can even act on natural language instructions you give it. Based on the input, the AI agent decides which tool it's going to use—your Google Calendar, your email, any tool you give it—to achieve the desired outcome.
AI agents are for everyone. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. If you want to become more efficient, save loads of time, create a new stream of income, or save more of your income, then AI agents are for you.
I've personally trained:
- Marketing Teams & Salespeople
- Construction Workers & Data Analysts
- Accountants & Lawyers
- CEOs & Content Creators
- E-commerce Leaders & Consultants
- ...and everyone under the sun!
Everyone has a use case. Not only are people finding these use cases, but students of mine have went on to sell their AI agents for thousands of dollars. Somebody in the community actually sold an agent for $59,000. So you can see how powerful these things are, because money talks. We've also helped bigger, more established businesses save thousands of dollars with AI agents.
Section 2: The Agent Building Tool Stack & n8n Basics
We're going to keep it very simple. These are the main tools you need to build AI agents. The second one is interchangeable, but for this course, we'll stick to these two so we're all on the same page.
1. n8n
This is the no-code tool we will use to build our automations and agents. The good news is you can start for free with a 14-day trial. Think of it as the central hub for your agent building success.
2. OpenAI
Creators of ChatGPT. We need to integrate a Large Language Model (LLM) into our workflows. This allows us to "talk" to our automation. You'll need about $5-$10 loaded for API access to start.
Now that we've made it through section one, congratulations! We're going to move on to section two where we'll actually dive into the basics of n8n so we can learn more about our tool, go over the pricing, and everything you'll need to know to get started.
The Basics of n8n
What is n8n? This is the no-code tool that we are going to be using to build out our automations and agents. It will be the lynchpin for your agent building success. I've battle-tested multiple platforms for building agents, and n8n wins every time.
Think of it like an interface where you can connect and integrate AI into 500+ tools on the internet. You can connect to the Google ecosystem, the entire Microsoft ecosystem, all of your favorite CRM tools, AirTable, Notion, Slack, Stripe, email accounts, any AI model you want, and it allows you to bring all of these tools and connect them together in a canvas-like setting.
n8n Pricing
(Note: Pricing could change depending on when you are reading this guide. Always check the official n8n.io website for the most current information.)
There are three main plans: Starter, Pro, and Enterprise.
- The Starter plan begins at $24 per month.
- The Pro plan will begin at $60 per month.
- Switching to an annual plan usually provides a discount.
Next, we'll cover how to sign up and dive into the interface and settings. This step is very important. If you want to be a master at what you do, you have to understand your tools best. If you're like a samurai ninja, you've got to understand the movement of the sword in and out. You have to know your weapon if you want to be a master of it. Let's learn to navigate the workspace.
